Maryland Wear & Carry-Day 2
Heritage Maryland Wear & Carry Day #2 is the second of two training days needed to satisfy the Maryland mandated 16-hour training requirement. This intensive training utilizes classroom, simulation lab, and extensive live fire exercises to ensure you are prepared for a variety of scenarios. At the start of the course, you will learn and begin to develop muscle memory for the 6 fundamentals of holster draw. Once these fundamentals are demonstrated in a 25-round live fire exercise, your instructor will review the different methods of target alignment (unsighted fire, flash sight picture, sighted fire) that are vital in defensive shooting scenarios. We then return to the range for an additional 25-round course of fire that focuses on increased accuracy and speed from the holster. After Lunch, students experience shooting in low light conditions utilizing proven techniques for flashlight utilization with a firearm. Then you will have the opportunity to shoot a course of fire utilizing dominant and non-dominant hand only. Day #2 culminates in the 25-round Maryland Wear & Carry Proficiency Course which has a minimum passing score of 70%. Please note that Day #2 is not a beginner’s level course and requires a solid understanding of firearm fundamentals before signing up.
